Along with all the other victims remembered on 9/11, Loyola Rugby especially remembers one of our own, Sean Lugano. Our home pitch is named after the former Loyola captain, and his jersey number 10 is retired (something that is uncommon is Rugby tradition). His initials S.T.L. are adorned in a small corner of our crest. Loyola Rugby will never forget, and it is a great honor for every player who wears the fly half jersey with the Roman numeral X on the back. His family raised money to build the field upon which Loyola Rugby practices and play their home games.

During Winter months a state of the art dome is placed over Sean Lugano Memorial Field.  This ensures that the men and women of Loyola Rugby are able to train throughout the entire year and in any kind of weather.
